Chichester’s Local Plan has been given the go ahead by the planning inspectorate
following a thorough examination process.
The plan will now go to July’s Cabinet (July 7th) and Full Council meeting (July 14th) with a recommendation that it is formally adopted.

Redevelopment of the Chidham Garage Site on the Main Rd
Planning permission has not been granted yet. Revised plans 14/01354/FUL have been submitted and there will be a period of consultation. In the mean time contractors have been busy breaking up the concrete and removing the fuel storage tanks.

Chichester District Council Local Plan - Examination in Public
An examination by an independent Inspector, Sue Turner RIBA MRTPI IHBC BARCH MSC will be held to consider the soundness of the Chichester District Council Local Plan Development Plan Document.
The Hearings will start at
10.00 am on Tuesday 30th September 2014 in Committee Rooms 1 and 2, Chichester District Council, East Pallant House, 1 East Pallant , Chichester , West Sussex , PO19 1TY.
It is expected that the Examination will continue into W/C 6th October 2014 , and possibly W/C 27th October 2014 .

A mixed use development comprising 8 No. dwellings, 2 No. flexible A1/B1(a) commercial units and 1 No. B1(a) office unit with access road, landscaping and other ancillary works.
An appeal has been lodged by the developer Akehurst Epps, against the Council decision to refuse planning permission for Wakefords Field, Broad Rd. ref 13/03376/OUT APP/L3815/A/14/2216805
The proposal is for 30 houses, of which 12 will be affordable.
The appeal will take place on June 11th 2014, at East Pallant House, Chichester, starting at 10am.
The Neighbourhood Plan. The Emerging Local Plan calls for a minimum of 25 houses in the Parish in the period 2012 - 2029. However planning permission has already been given for 48 houses.
In the Chidham and Hambrook Neighbourhood Plan questionnaire, of the people who returned questionnaires(68%), the majority (75%) wanted no more than 25 houses to be built. A majority (78%) wanted them to be built on brown field sites.
In response to particular questions about the environment the responses were:-

In planning the future development of our Parish should we preserve more space for wildlife habitats / biodiversity?- Yes 89%
What type of habitats? Trees woods and Orchards? - Yes 92%
Should future development preserve green corridors for wild life to move between habitats? - Yes 91%

By the end of this particular week approval may have been given for 78 new houses in the Parish
Decision delayed. 13/03376/OUT 30 Homes on Wakeford's Field - Target decision date was 29 January. CDC have now requested more time to arrive at a decision with a new target date proposed of 31 March.
Land North of the Willows, Hambrook Hill South
Having been looking at local planning applications on the CDC planning portal and in the Chi Observer, I noticed that the 11 houses North of The Willows - application that had been accepted, has now had a revision appearing in the Observer which doesn't appear to address the issues required for the original accepted application. As such, it has been re-opened for comments and additional objections are being posted.
Ref is - 13/03924/REM
Just wanted to confirm that although the second plan was approved, it was with conditions and the additional (3rd) application needs to be considered for further / initial comments (objections) as it is open for comments now. Comments added by locals so far include the lack of resolution of restricted parking, Why were 9 houses rejected (1st application) and now 11 houses approved?No pathways for a well used lane for walkers, cyclists and equestrian community along poorly lit lane. Flooding risk due to pressure on Ham Brook, with flooding already seen in gardens and driveways locally. Parking on Hambrook Hill South likely to increase with no visitor parking assigned - this will reduce the access to A27 for emergency vehicles. Voles locally on land for development. Usual other objections regarding infrastructure, facilities and distance to public transport. Wasn't sure if this has been posted on the website to let locals know so thought it worth a quick email.
