Maybush Copse Work Party.

There will be the usual Work Party on the first Saturday of the month (Saturday Jan 4th, 10am) for anyone who has survived the Christmas holidays … so far..
There is also a Friends of Chichester Harbour Work Party at Maybush Copse on Tuesday Jan 7th at 10am which will concentrate on removing redundant plastic tree guards.

Film Night, Jan 10th, Village Hall, 7.30pm

A South Sea Island evening and a showing of Kevin Costner’s film ‘Rapa Nui’. see poster. Before the film, John Wingrove will give a short introduction using his photos taken on Easter Island last year, explaining some of the artistic licence taken by the film makers with the history of this most mysterious of islands. see trailer
The Barleycorn will have a themed menu – here. Normally the “2 for 1” deal only applies to main courses, however on this occasion it will apply to however many courses you choose, provided you buy your tickets for the film at the same time as you pay for your meals in the pub. Make an evening of it.

Play Area – temporary closure

The children’s play area on Broad Road, Hambrook will be closed for approximately two weeks as new picnic benches and seating benches will be installed which will improve the area considerably.
Early next year the Parish Council has a project to improve some of the play equipment and the rubber matting surfaces as well as to remove some of the tired old signs and cut back the foliage.

Residents reminded of changes to bin collections this Christmas

Collection days will return to normal from Monday 13 January 2020. Residents can download and print out their own personalised waste, recycling and garden recycling collection dates by visiting www.chichester.gov.uk/wastecollectioncalendar

The Garden Recycling Service will stop over Christmas and New Year from Friday 20 December and will start again on Monday 6 January.
